Words in CIR are supporting high skilled. At the same time Schumer mentioned that they will not allow companies to replace Americans with lower wage foreign workers. You can easily get the meaning of it. First CIR need to be introduced. And it needs to seen What CIR will offer for high skilled immigrants. Many lobbying groups waiting with laundry list of demands for them. Basically every group wants unlimited guest workers and green cards. Someone in congress has to take leadeship initiatives without politics and without any bias. Then only CIR is feasible

It is not possible to save any information on PDF forms if need to correct anything later..
Any idea how to save data on all the forms...
No..I tried all options..even hacking pdf security, print-to-file etc.;) . I left those pdfs open in my laptop and I never close my home laptop.

You also have to apply for Photo GC which will only be mailed in Canada and someone have to fed ex it to U in US else you will have problem getting back to Canada in future.
It might be better to post in the canada immigration newgroup in british

If you need to retain your PD, does the job description need to be similar or can it be different?
Mine is a similar case, I-140 is approved and would like to switch employers on 3 year H1 extension....
My question is can I file for labor through PERM with the new company even if it is in different category and previous I-140 is revoked (worst case, maybe even realistic scenario)? What can my original company do to stop this H1 transfer/filing of new labor from happening?:confused:

even corporate lawyers dont charge more than 750/1000 for individual cases so 2000 is ridiculously high. I would hire a lawyer if only to have a centralized database of my documents in case the govt comes poking around & have them respond ina timely fashion in the legalese thats designed to make no frickin sense to the general public-aliensincluded, but somehow makes the uscis officials climax i guess - btw, there a (confidential?) thread to disclose how much firms are charging

I recently traveled (2 weeks ago) via Frankfurt to India and back from Dallas. It is more than enough time. Also Lufthansa does a good job of on-time arrivals and departures. I would say it should not be a problem at all.

previously when entering on AP, they used to ask for receipt of 485.
so main proof they look for is a valid 'inprogress' 485 appln.
i dont think theyll ask ur wife to show her EAD card at the port of entry.
to be safe, give her a cpy of 485 reciept, a copy of the receipt for the new EAD, and carry the old ead card. i think u shud be fine.
having valid , nonlapsed EAD cards is probably only imp for those who are USING the ead. if ur wife is not working and if her ead arrves few weeks late, it wont matter as long as u have applied for its renewal and have proof of it.
this shud be an easy qn for ur attorney.

Even though receipts are generated based on received date, I assume they will process by priority date , if not what is use of priority date after filing I-485?
Gurus, any body know how USCIS will process 485 applications?

Those who file after July 17, 2007 and before August 1, 2007 may not be entitled to the benefit of 104(c) extension. Accordingly, those who need three-year extension under 104(c) should not file the H-1B extension until after August 1, 2007 to obtain three year extension, even though they will have to pay the increased filing of $320 rather than the current $190. In August, the EB visa number will remain "unavailable" for the entire EB classifications, presenting the best opportunity to file such 104(c) three-year increment H-1B extension petition. What a twist and irony of the development of events?

This is Off-Topic, sorry about that, but this is the best forum i could think of to ask this:
My father-in-law is visiting us from India, and he is thinking of driving a car here. He drives in India and I think in a couple of weeks (with maybe 2-3 classes with some instructor) he should get the hang of driving. Are there any risks that anyone knows of with this? (if he makes a mistake and ends up in an accident I understand that we end up being personally liable and can even be sued if there is an injured party).

Smart man Anders!! I did the same thing a few weeks ago on one of my bird images!
My reasoning was slightly different in that at iso 1600 often there is little to no noise on the subject but tons in the OOF region! And NI removes detail and sharpness which I hate! So I did the same thing to background while holding the birds definition!
Enjoy and never worried about does this look natural question anymore! Nothing looks natural to me anymore :)

Just got �Card Production Ordered� LUD for EAD for both myself and my wife. Wish it could have happened on the next working day, which is Monday - June 30th, we could have got 2 year EAD, unlucky!!!

Frist's enforcement only bill will be very popular in the house, but is unlikely to pass the senate. There seems to be quite a few republican senators (Specter, Mccain, Graham, Brownback to name a few) who might vote against any bill which is not "comprehensive". They along with the dems easily have more than 50 votes to block. Now, even if Frist's passes senate, it has to be reconciled with the house version - there are plenty of vocal anti EB folks there and hardly anyone pro. So if push comes to shove, Frist would probably agree to drop the EB provisions and pass rest of the bill , so that he can take credit and hit the '08 presidential campaign trail.
Specter's will easily pass the senate, will be a miracle if it passes the house - senate conference commitee in its present form. The only hope is all the attention will be on the amnesty provisions and negotiations surrounding that, and the EB part of it will fly under the radar.

A lot of lawyers do not charge money for every question you ask if you are their client. You can easily email them and ask questions or post on their intranet. It is part of their service that helps them get more business.
If your employer is their client, then of course the lawyer may not respond to you. Why should he?
My PD is August 2009 , and i seem to loose patience.....I can imagine how those people who have been in this queue from 4-5 years must be feeling........Lets hope for the best :)

I have an NRE account and I get a 1099-INT every year from my bank for that account. It clearly states that the interest has been reported to the IRS and therefore must be shown on the 1040.
